Physical Therapy Aide:
Students will learn the skills to be eligible to work as a PT Aide in a hospital or clinic. PT Aides perform a variety of skills and their role will vary depending on the facility.
PT Aides work under the supervision of a licensed therapist and may perform the following duties: Teaching and assisting patients with therapeutic exercise; the administration of hot packs, cold packs, electrotherapy, ultrasound and more.
Course Description:
In this course, students will learn Medical Terminology, Documentation, and Basic anatomy Students will also learn hands-on skills in Therapeutic Exercise, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Gait, Transfer training and more.
Sports Therapy Physical Therapy Aide:
This course will prepare students to work as a Physical Therapy Aide in a Sports clinic, Rehabilitation facility or other Sports medicine facilities.
Course Description:
Students will learn all of the above PTA skills and how to treat sports related injuries. Sports therapy related skills include: taping and wrapping injuries and sports conditioning exercises.
Restorative Nursing Aides (RNAs):
Work under the Director of Nursing performing Physical Therapy Aide skills such as: Therapeutic Exercise, Ambulation, and transfer training. RNAs also assist patients with dressing and feeding. This course is designed for CNA and LVN students who want to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Prerequisite: CNA and LVN Certifications; Certified PT Aides will also be considered.
Course Description:
Students will learn Medical Terms, Range of Motion exercises, How to transfer and assist patients with various Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Certified Personal Trainers:
Help clients to live a healthier lifestyle and reach their personal fitness goals.
This course will teach students how to start their own business and be a Successful Fitness Consultant.
Course Description:
In this course, students will learn the basic anatomy of selective body systems, various fitness techniques (weight loss, maintenance and strength training), individual exercise program design & how to motivate clients to help them reach their goals.
Certified Exercise Specialist (CES)
This course is designed to help Physical Therapy/ Sports Therapy
Aides, CNAs, and Massage Therapists to develop the skills to create
exercise programs for individuals who desire to improve their posture
and overall fitness and wellness.
You will learn how to perform assessments that will help you to create personalized fitness programs tailored to your client’s needs.
The course the curriculum includes an overview of muscular and movement anatomy, Joint Range of Motion, Muscular/Cardio Conditioning Exercises.
Upon completion of this course you will receive a certificate as a CES; work privately with clients who want to get into better shape, reduce pain, increase flexibility, increase strength and improve their overall health and wellness.
